　　PE涂料对于材质有良好的附着性，彩涂钢板易于加工成型，价廉且产品多，颜色和光泽的选择余地大。聚酯涂料对耐紫外光性与涂膜耐粉化性，并不理想，因此PE涂料的使用仍需受到一些限制，一般用在空气污染不严重的地区或需多次成型加工的产品。

　　由于聚酯含有活性基，极易和其它高分子化和物反应，为改良耐阳光性与粉化性，以色泽保持性与耐热性优的树脂作变性反应，和PE的变性比可于5%—50%之间，SMP提供钢板更好的持久性，其防蚀年限长，当然其也更高，但因树脂对材质的附着性和加工成型性并不理想，因此彩涂钢板并不适用于需多次成型加工的场合，大部分用于建筑屋顶及外墙。

　　高耐候聚酯树脂在合成时采用含环己烷结构的单体，来达到树脂的柔韧性、耐候性和成本的平衡，采用不含芳香族的多元醇和多元酸来减少树脂对光线的吸收，达到涂料的高耐候性能。涂料配方中加入紫外线吸收剂和位阻胺提高漆膜耐候性能。高耐候聚酯卷材涂料在国外已被市场认可，该涂料性价比十分突出。

High weather resistant polyester resin is synthesized using monomers containing cyclohexane structure to achieve a balance between flexibility, weather resistance, and cost. 　　由于聚偏二氟乙烯的化学键与化学键间，有很强的键能，因此涂料具有非常好的防蚀性和色泽保持性，在建筑工业用彩涂钢板涂料中，是属于产品，且分子量大又为直键型结构，因此除耐化学药品性之外，机械性能、耐紫外线和耐热性能也很突出。在一般环境下，其防蚀年限可达20—25年之久。近年来，国内开始盛行以三氟氯乙烯和乙烯酯单体共聚的含氟树脂，大量应用于建筑的外墙和金属板。
